The JIDU foundation, or Joint Iraqi Development and Unity foundation, was started in 2005 by Dr. Sadick J. Alsadir. The foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of the long suffering Iraqi people and enabling the formation of a just, viable, independent, and democratic nation in Iraq. The Alsadir family has been at the forefront of Iraqi politcal and intelectual life for generations, and traces their lineage back over 1,400 years to the Prophet Muhammed. The name Jidu is also the Arabic word for grandfather and serves to honor Dr. Alsadir's grandfather and his father's grandfather (both pictured below). The name is also intended to remind people of Iraq's not so distant more inclusive egalatarian past and to inspire Iraqis to create a society and a legacy that their grandchildren can be proud of.

Welcome to the JIDU Foundation Website. Please stay tuned for an expanded site with more information about our projects in the United States and Iraq.

He later served as President of the Senate, Prime-Minister, and Third Regent to the Hashemite throne of Iraq. He is pictured here welcoming King Faisal I who returned from exile to establish the monarchy.

Dr. Jafar Al-Sadir (Grandson of Muhammed Al-Sadr and father of Dr. Sadick Alsadir) votes in Iraq's historic January 2005 election.
